Open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., it’s an incredible grassroots event that gives local gear heads a chance to discuss trends and tips with Barrett-Jackson executives Steve Davis and Gary Bennett.  Steve and Gary will also hand out three “Barrett-Jackson Choice Awards.”

The car show is open to all makes and models and free to all entries. In addition, the first 100 cars receive 2 free tickets to the Las Vegas auction, which will be held Oct. 7-10 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Burgers, hot dogs and drinks will be on sale to benefit Keep Memory Alive.

TPRM helped Aston Martin unveil the new DBS Volante at Aston Martin of Dallas and John Eagle European in Austin this week. The stunning new convertible was launched during exclusive gatherings at the dealerships with Bill Norman from Aston Martin North America in attendance.

The stunning $285,000 convertible was a huge hit and only a few hundred will be made worldwide. As the drop top version of the car James Bond drove in the last two movies, the DBS Volante is a powerful and elegant car with inspiring handling and drop dead looks.

Local media in Dallas and Austin were also treated to a Ride & Drive with dealership partners Kurt Fegraeus (Dallas) and Sonny Morgan (Austin). Check out the images from the Dallas unveiling. Austin shots will be up soon.

Barrett-Jackson to Auction Rare Shelby Cobra

In the market for one of the most coveted collector cars on the planet?  Then book travel plans for Vegas the second weekend of October.

Barrett-Jackson made a stunning addition today to its Las Vegas auction lineup with a rare, low mileage 1965 289 Shelby Cobra.  The car will be sold at No Reserve on Oct. 10 during Barrett-Jackson’s 2nd annual Vegas event at Mandalay Bay.

Here’s what Craig had to say about the Cobra:

“Shelby American’s Cobras captured the world’s attention and this nation’s imagination when they conquered Ferrari, Jaguar, Porsche and Aston Martin,” said Barrett-Jackson Chairman/CEO, Craig Jackson.  “With such a small number built in the 1960s, few will have the privilege to own one of these iconic cars.  Because we’ve sold some of the most desirable Cobras ever to roll out of Shelby American, like Carroll Shelby’s personal Super Snake, people who are serious about these roadsters come to Barrett-Jackson.   They know it’s the best opportunity for a ‘no stories’ Cobra to exchange hands with real buyers at true market value.”

AFAS at Pebble Beach – Nicola Wood Wins Peter Helck Award

The Automotive Fine Arts Society hosted their 24th annual Pebble Beach exhibit during the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 16. As has been the case for decades, the AFAS tent was swarming with enthusiasts and art collectors searching for their favorite car on canvas.

Nicola Wood captured the prestigious Peter Helck Award for her stunning oil painting, “Ferrari 512 S,” which features the 1970 Ferrari 512 S (Chassis No. 1006) on display at a West Coast Concours. Focusing on the famous race car is a departure from her traditional style of French pre-war classics. James Dietz won an award for his striking piece that included WWI era biplanes with classic cars, while Richard Pietruska’s huge sculpture included a waterfall.
