RENOWNED AUCTIONEER AMY ASSITER TO DEBUT COUNTRY ALBUM DURING SCOTTSDALE BARRETT-JACKSON AUCTION
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Jan. 18, 2012 - Auctioneer Amy Assiter, long known for her stage presence at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction™ will be the center of attention for a new reason this year - to debut her country album in Scottsdale. Building on her fame for singing the National Anthem before each auction, Assiter has bridged a love between military families and her gifted voice. All proceeds from her album, My Name is Amy, will benefit MISSION: Freedom's Children, a nonprofit that supports children of military families.
"I'm thrilled to share 'my other love' with the automotive world and country music fans everywhere," said Assiter. "When I sing at Barrett-Jackson, people ask me when I'll launch an album. Now I'm pursing that dream. The best part of this experience is that album sales will help support military families, a cause that's very close to my heart."
With extensive coverage on SPEED TV during Barrett-Jackson auctions, Assiter has attracted a great deal of attention from viewers. "It only seemed fitting that my album would be called, My Name is Amy," added Assiter. "Since I co-wrote the songs, it's filled with highlights from different moments in my life."
A mother and wife with a high profile career, Assiter has earned tremendous recognition in a short period of time. In 2000, she won the industry's most coveted title, International Auctioneer Champion (IAC), Women's Division. During her IAC reign, she served as the Goodwill Ambassador for the National Auctioneers Association where she raised money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
In 2003, Assiter became an auctioneer and bidder assistant at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction. She has an unofficial fan club of auto and auction enthusiasts from around the world. Assiter's album will be sold at Barrett-Jackson, an album sponsor that has helped raise millions of dollars for charity over the years. Assiter has been involved with many of the charity cars that have crossed the block.
Fans who can't make it to Scottsdale for the debut will soon be able to purchase the album online at http://amyassiter.com. Assiter is scheduled to perform across the nation later this year.
